So disgusting. A lot of women do not even know they are pregnant at 6 weeks, not to mention that figuring out if there are health issues with the fetus aren’t usually known for sure until 20 weeks. Given that in at least 2 states that I know of, when a referendum was put on the ballot to ban abortion, the ban was defeated, seems to me that this will bring out a lot of women AGAINST Republicans and their attempts to control women’s health care. (Example: Kansas) or Montana, which will have its own abortion constitutional amendment, date to get signatures by June 21
The good news, though, is that the Florida Supreme Court has allowed putting an amendment on the ballot in November to “Limit Government Interference with Abortion” Orlando Sentinel which also has the advisory opinion
[Women in Florida ] ill have fully lost abortion rights, first thanks to Trump’s U.S. Supreme Court picks helping overturn Roe v. Wade and then thanks to DeSantis’ abortion ban, which was upheld by the conservatives he put on the state’s supreme court.
Trump has tried ineffectively to straddle this issue, taking credit for Roe getting overturned then criticizing DeSantis’ state ban, all while mumbling nonspecifically that “deals are going to be made” when it comes to a national abortion ban.
At a CNN town hall last may, Trump was asked whether he would sign a 15-week federal abortion ban and he wouldn’t answer, saying only: “What I’ll do is negotiate, so that people are happy.”
Good luck with that, bubba.
Recent Fox News poll shows widespread support for abortion access
To summarize voters’ views on the issue, I’ll quote from this Fox News report published last week: “Nearly two years after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, a record number of voters think abortion should be legal, with two-thirds favoring nationwide law guaranteeing access, according to a Fox News national survey.”
The more that Republicans try to put forward a national ban, the more women, who are citizens too, fight against it. America Supports Abortion
Don’t vote for anyone in the Republican party, this is the party that has thug, rapist Donald Trump as their presidential candidate. And some Republicans want the death penalty for women who get abortions, like the malevolent kooks in Hood County, Texas.
