Previous post on the agreements. Have now heard from two people from the Expo that Gray made them, under pain of being fired, sign non-disclosure agreements. It appears to me that, even though the non-disclosure forms have existed in the Personnel policies of Somervell County for at least 2 years, no one had to sign them before very recently. (Given that these appeared in 2022, is it possible these were created and added by Gray? ) And I don’t think anyone outside of the Expo has been required to sign them. Only the people that worked for Cyndy Gray. According to at least one person that I spoke with, Gray said that person could not post on social media (ie Facebook), at all. What does the form on the county say?
As you look at this, note that no place does it say employees cannot post on social media but does say that employees are “at all times responsible for conducting themselves in a professional and ethical manner and for treating coworkers and members of the public with respect and dignity..”
So… if it was not okay, but only according to Gray, for Expo employees to post on social media (at all, about anything) .. PERIOD.. then why is Gray posting about the *Natives* on her social media? She also is an employee but no rules apply to her? Not only is this entirely disrespectful to the Pow Wow group that PAID MONEY to Somervell County to hold an event there (sans alcohol) but, again, in the context of this non-disclosure agreement, even if she did not apparently sign it, why was it okay for her to post about the “Natives”?
I was told by one of the employees of the expo that Gray specifically told him to stay away from the powwow and the setup process… that employee had been very helpful up to that point as was embarrassed and apologetic for being told to stay away from the setup. She was an obstacle from the start and took great joy in publicly expressing her hatred for the event in end.
The other person in this photo is an employee of “The Perfect Plan”, an event planning company that is far from perfect! They produced one mistake after the next! Had ZERO ticket sales despite being PAID WELL to bring in two bands and a sound stage.
The only thing PERFECT about Saturday was the beautiful Native American celebration that was unceremoniously shut down by poor planning and a small town hick!
Ugh. Really seems like racism is at the root of this.. and especially disgusting in that Toys for Tots was one of the goals of the Pow Wow. I also feel awful for the expo employee you mention, can’t imagine any valid reason for treating the Pow Wow differently that *any* event for which people paid money. The event planners were ill treated by Somervell County, in the guise of having someone unqualified to *direct* the Expo who did such an unprofessional action of mistreating Vic.
If the person you mention wants to contact me, he or she can send an email to talk@glenrose.net with phone number and I’ll call back.
