I was watching over the weekend the whole brouhaha of Trump illegally sending the National Guard to Los Angeles over protesters who don’t like what the Gestapo/ICE is doing. That is to say, sending the military against Americans) When the National Guard is being considered to go somewhere, it is with the coordination and permission of the state, except when you have a Felon Despot who wants to just spout something out and do it. His Jackbook Homan said this about Gavin Newsom, governor of California and Mayor Karen Bass, mayor of LA.
Later in the interview, Newsom was asked about border czar Tom Homan’s comments indicating he would not rule out arresting Newsom or Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass if they interfered in his efforts.
“Come after me, arrest me. Let’s just get it over with, tough guy, you know? I don’t give a damn. But I care about my community. I care about this community,” he continued.
Now that brings me to the day on May 9th when Somervell County decided to give me a criminal trespass warning for something that looks entire bogus, was based on no law and looked like the retaliatory whim of the County Attorney Trey Brown.
Remember that I ASKED Brown back in August 2024 what law was cited and any penalty for breaking that so-called law, posted, and there was NONE. At most, according to an email I got from him, in which, surprisingly, he invited me to sue him, he said “No one ever said it was a criminal law” At most the penalty in his communication is that a person with a recording device might be asked to leave or not take their cell phone into the office.” And yet the CT warning is CRIMINAL TRESPASS which is noted NOWHERE in any communication to me nor on the walls nor on the no recording sign on the wall.
I was told after the CT was issued that I would not be able to go into any private offices where that No recording sign was on the outside.. with NO OTHER CONDITIONS. In other words, ambiguously, could I no longer go down the hall, recording or not, and visit County Commissioners?
I wish I could say that I just passively took being wrongly CTd when I broke no law (and I’m dead sure after all the comments from the cops that they definitely wanted me to shut up and just accept the warning) , but the complete unfairness of this made me, on the spot, say “Arrest me” and go back into the building, go down the hall into the only commissioners office where the door was open. The cops declined to arrest me, maybe because I was actually breaking no law they could cite. One of the other cops commented that they had never seen someone ask to go to jail , so I am here to explain that.He STILL never heard anyone say that, I said a few times “Arrest me” It’s not that I wanted to be arrested, who would, BUT that I was willing to be arrested. I was told by one of the cops that since it was just a warning, there was nothing for me to do about it in court. It was suggested to me that I could go talk to Trey Brown about it, but why should I, since it appeared this whole episode was him being petty because I had criticized him in the past. So, at the point when the cop who had written up the citation said ” … Private offices in the annex”, I immediately felt that my rights were being violated and the only possible way to get a fair dealing in court would be to be arrested and be able to contest this before a judge. After all, I was violating no law and the cop (Jeff) said I was trespassed from all private offices in the annex, which would mean that I could not freely go in a public building to speak to a commissioner in any respect since someone, without benefit of a law or a posted sign and differing from what commissioners think and also without benefit of a commissioners court meeting voting to make those offices private, decided to call commissioners offices *private*. Frankly, since no commissioner thought that offices were *private*, had never voted on it, it sure looked like a designation being pulled out of the a** of Mr Brown. I had asked that cop to please put on the ticket that this was referring to recording (which I still disagree with as being unlawful) but the other cop told him what to say and it didn’t include the clarifying word *recording*. Again, I was NOT recording anything and was not even in any *private* office.
Anyway, since I did NOTHING WRONG at any time, I was angry that I was being treated this way, especially for something I was doing on May 9, 2025 and without any type of warning that I might be breaking some law and also irritated that the paper warning indicated I could not go into a so-called private office that had one of those baloney signs.
Maybe YOU would not be unhappy with being charged with something that 1. The County Attorney could not prove or cite a law for nor anything at all to indicate that any offices were designated as *private* 2. That Alan West of the Somervell County Sheriff’s Department said was not a legal sign violating any law and 3. That based on nothing you were being told you could not go into a commissioners office or you would be trespassing. I was.
P.S Not only, of course, do I find it weird that I would get a warning for being in private offices with no recording signs when on May 9 2025, I was NOT IN ANY OFFICE LIKE THAT, much less recording, but after I went down the hall into Jeff Harris office, the cop Jeff would NOT arrest me, although he was champing at the bit to do it, according to body cam video. Why not? If it was so serious that I needed to be criminal trespassed for nothing that day, when I actually DID go into a commissioners office and had my cell phone recording in my hand, nobody would arrest me. Could it be that Trey Brown, County Attorney, knew since I was violating NO LAW and for which non-existent law there was no penalty, that it would be thrown out of court as a stupid and frivolous action?
