I am really grateful that almost every one of the government entities in Somervell County either does audio or video of meetings and posts them in a timely manner. I remember years ago when I lived in Denton County that I was happy to see that anyone could tune in to Denton County meetings, as well as local meetings and watch them on the television. Although that’s not the case in this county, the second best thing is to be able to pay attention to upcoming meetings and agendas and then go find the audio or video of the meeting. My view, as I’ve often said, is that being able to hear or watch what is actually said is always the best way to keep informed. I have put links to various important govt information in the menu on the right hand side.
I have, this year, spent quite a bit of time bringing my own camera to the Somervell County meetings. In the last couple of months, the Somervell County Hospital District meetings have mentioned that Covid is going up and more people hospitalized from that. I don’t think I would get covid, but who knows (every single member of my family has had it this month and last, and one family has had it twice) and I’m not really interested, especially since hub and I have a lot planned for the next few months, in coming down with it. I believe that being in enclosed rooms with others that might have it exposes those who don’t, so I’m going to limit myself in my own civic enjoyment to watching meetings online for now.
