I have said before that I was glad when Joe Biden stepped down from running in the middle of his second time. I have felt for some time, especially after Bernie Sanders was running in a primary, that there is, in any political party, a faction of people who have already decided who they are going to push. That’s one reason why I quit voting in primaries but wait for the general election. I already thought Trump is not only a rambling kook but a criminal and was more than shocked when he was not removed from office or jailed for the crimes, if proven, he committed. I likewise was shocked during the primary to see Joe Biden who clearly was kind of out of it; made me want him to step down and I happily voted for Kamala Harris. I’ve also long felt that there should be age limits on running for office, ie, if you are going to X age going into a second term, you can’t run but should spend your time as an older person doing other activities. Remember how Ronald Reagan had alzheimers and it was hidden from the public? I do.
If Joe Biden, rightly, can be criticized for only running for one term, as he said he would do, then the same spotlight over the issues of old age, slipping in mental accuity, etc should be applied to Trump. To me, he deserves this even more than just anyone because he is currently trampling on the constitution and is the most corrupt president we have had in our history (and there have been some unsavory presidents in the past-go read Teappot dome or Jackson’s genocide of the Cherokee through the trail of tears).
I wrote about this earlier today, that the White House is not posting transcripts of Trump’s speeches on the White house website any more. Not only does this make it more difficult to find what he actually said on the internet, but sometimes, you just want to go find a specific part of a speech without watching an entire video. Feels like they are trying to hide the weird things Trump says.
this isn’t even about him being a crass bully who threatens people on a daily basis, looks like he is trying to extort people every day and is a wallet open to any type of influence, including foreign. I don’t expect perfection but what Trump is doing is free of any apparent effort to be lawful and live up to an admired president of values. It’s been surprising to me that so-called christians build him up He’s been that way for years but now I honestly do wonder if he’s also, being old, giving in to senility.
