I feel like *christianity* is a brand that some people, who can be completely unethical, wear as a label in order to pretend they are good persons. Maybe some are, but definitely it’s not only completely weird but hypocritical to associate with a degenerate felon like Donald Trump. It’s not that I don’t think some *christians* are sincere even if I myself think that anyone can be ethical and good and do not have to be a particular sect of christianity to be so (or any other religion as well, including islam)
BUT it’s amazing that there are people who are Trump apologists, (usually members of the Republican party) that turn a blind eye to a horrible man who is a pedophile, was accused of rape, said some awful things about grabbing women by the p*****, disparaged disabled people, bullies people on the regular, has sycophants of him making golden idols of him and who begs his followers to send him money so he can get into heaven.
More than that, at least most people, I hope, are taught, to avoid bad associations. I remember reading Goofus and Gallant in Highlights magazine that taught moral lessons about NOT doing what creepy people are doing. I was raised to “Avoid the appearance of evil” I have extensively read the Bible and it seems like this idea is from 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 but it also just seems like common sense, right? Why WOULD someone trying to be a good person hang around with a law breaking immoral creep? Going even further, why would anyone want to be mistakenly associated with Trump?
And, by extension, why would anyone that wants to be ethical and good, associate with any *christian* that supports a pedophile?
