Background

As I mentioned the other day, Somervell County Attorney Trey Brown had attempted to ask the Texas Attorney General to prevent me from getting video from the public hallways in the Somervell County Annex. I had done, in reference to a lawless action both Trey Brown and Somervell County Judge Danny Chambers did with regard to a baloney criminal trespass warning while I was at the Annex standing in a (of course) public spot. Since Jeff from the Somervell County Sheriff’s Department had told me that I had been viewed on camera previous to him coming down the hall to tell me to leave, I wanted that video. I expected there to be no issue in getting it, since the hallways are public. However, and, frankly, it seems very suspicious to me, Trey Brown did not want me to get the video, is there something on it he doesn’t want me to see?, and asked the Attorney General for an opinion. Due to both his and Haley de los Santos ‘s incompetence, the Attorney General turned down Brown’s plea and told him to get me the video promptly. You can read the specifics here

Mind you, NOBODY TOLD me from Somervell County that the AG had told them to cough up the video. Because I wondered what the heck was going on and had, through my own efforts, found on the AG website what their order was to the county, I also at that time did an open records request asking for that decision, from Haley, and she still has not answered me. Imagine that, maybe she thinks she can just wait at her own leisure to send the eastier thing in the world through email. I sent a message to them on Friday, September 5. De Los Santors wrote me back the following Monday, September and said

I received no update or any information, and looked at the actions the AG had told them to do with regard to me and then wrote them AGAIN on Sep 17, which was a couple of days ago. Notice that what I am asking for is something more specific than, basically “We’ll get back with you”. I have no way of knowing WHEN they asked Eddie Gossett or someone else working in the IT Department to get me the video (I mean, does he even KNOW this is an open records request that he is supposed to fulfill promptly? What, should I just wait for perhaps more months without any clue about even a vague idea about when I can expect this? Utterly unprofessional including not even to reply back with a “Duh, I dunno.”

If I didn’t know any better, I might think that they were purposely slow walking the response, because they stupidly might think I would give up on getting this or will change my mind. Hah Course maybe this is unfair, maybe instead of trying to let me, a citizen of this county, actually get responses from his office to let me know what the heck to expect with a timeline, he’s busy.
