I voted last week in the Texas election for constitutional amendments. Voted NO to everyone because I feel like the TXLEGE needs to do its job and pass laws rather than constantly try to change the Texas constitution, especially if it’s performative bullchit. Anyway, they all passed but I’m still happy about my vote
Here’s what passed in some other states yesterday
- Trump has been trying to prevent people from voting, particularly anyone that would not vote his way. This makes him the worst president we have ever had, propped up by a lawless Republican party. Anyway, when he threatened states to to gerrymander in order to bring more Republican votes, Gavin Newsome of California countered with Prop 50 yesterday, which resoundlingly passed. I still personally feel that NO state should change its districts arbitrarily nor on the recommendations of one party or another but by a non-partisan committee (and not only with members put in by the majority party). However, if Trump is going to actively be a dicatator and try to deprive Americans of their votes, then fire has to be fought with fire.
